Dimond Passed away Monday at St. Luke's Hospital Miss Carrie Jane Dimond, 59, who had been bedfast for near to two years after suffering a broken hip in a fall, passed away early Monday morning at St. Luke's hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services were held in the Center Point Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. R. C. Scott the pastor. Mrs. E. H. Whitmore and Mrs. H. W. M Craig, Ora Glass and Lloyd Hendryx. Interment was in the Center Point Cemetery. The following life sketch was red at the services: Carrie Jane, daughter of Sanford and Esther Floyd Dimond was born near Center Point, June 7, 1884 and passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids early Monday morning. October 11, 1943, following a lingering illness of two years. Her age at death was 59 years, 4 months and 4 days. She spent her entire life as a resident of Linn County having been employed in Cedar Rapids for nearly forty years. When her health failed she came to the home of her sister Mrs. Nellie Sherman in Center Point, where she was card for until a few weeks ago, at which time she was taken to the hospital. At the beginning of her illness she was also cared for in the University Hospital in Iowa City and serveral different occasions. She was one of five children, and is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nellie Sherman and one brother Frank Dimond of Cedar Rapids, two nephews and eight nieces, besides a host of friends.
