E. Phil Dubbs officiating. Mrs. Wedergren died Tuesday evening at a Fremont Hospital. Mrs. Wedergren was born October 15, 1874 in Chicago, Ill. She came to Dodge County as a child with her parents and lived in Swaburg. She was the granddaughter of Peter and Mary Saispair of Swaburg. She attended country schools, studied music at Sedalia, Missouri, and Fremont Normal School. Her mother was the first teacher of District 49, now the Uehling School. She married Andrew Wedergren March 14, 1892 in Fremont. They farmed south of Uehling for 45 years, moving to Fremont in 1932. They had lived there ever since. She was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1950, and a son. Surviving are six daughters: Mrs. Ben (Mae) Heller of Fremont; Mrs. Gladys Sommerer of Burbank, Calif.; Mrs. Hattie Nelson and Mrs. Ed (Naomi) Adams, both of Fremont; Mrs. William (Ethel) Sommerer of Craig; and Mrs. Jack (Nellie) Gerken of Omaha; four sons: Earl and Floyd of Uehling; Carl of Omaha and Ivan of Fremont; a sister, Mrs. Francis Mollin of Minneapolis, Minn.; 36 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Fremont Tribune October 17, 1962 Mrs. Carrie Wedergren, 88, of 1615 No. Main, Fremont, born Oct. 15, 1874 at Chicago, IL.
