She was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late W. C. and Maria Shelley Snipes. She was married to the late Boyd Frank Drew who died in 1939. RAINS - Mrs. Carrie Mabel Snipes Drew died Saturday night after an extended illness. She was born in Marion County, a daughter of the late W. C. and Maria Shelley Snipes. She was married to the late Boyd Frank Drew who died in 1939. Mrs. Drew was a member of the Reedy Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Elmond Drew and Frank W. Drew, both of Rains; one daughter, Mrs. George Smith of Mt. Pleasant; a brother, Monroe Snipes of Rains; a sister, Mrs. J. W. Capps of Mullins; two half brothers, W. C. Snipes of Pamplico and Evans Snipes of Conway; and 8 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today from Reedy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Oscar Holland officiating.
