Description	:	Mrs. Carrie O. BOWERS, beloved wife of Charles Bowers, died at the home in Anamosa on Sun. evening, 20 Dec., at the age of 74 years. Her last sickness came to one over frail by physical weakness, & the fear that any serious illness would end a life f many years, & one filled by kindness & great devotion was justified. Carrie... Read More	Mrs. Carrie O. BOWERS, beloved wife of Charles Bowers, died at the home in Anamosa on Sun. evening, 20 Dec., at the age of 74 years. Her last sickness came to one over frail by physical weakness, & the fear that any serious illness would end a life f many years, & one filled by kindness & great devotion was justified. Mrs. Bowers was the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. WALBRIDGE, the father was a Civil War veteran, & the family were of pioneer stock, moving from New York State to Cedar co., Iowa in 1868, later moving to Cass township. Carrie WALBRIDGE was born in Herkimer co, New York State on 8 Feb. 1862. She was united in marriage to Chas. BOWERS of Cass, 1 Nov. 1880. The golden wedding anniversary was observed at the home in Anamosa in 1930, & at this date the couple had walked the way of life together for over 56 years. The way has been long, but it has been one of increasing pleasure & contentment & the breaking of this tie of affection will be deeply felt by the bereaved husband who for many years has tried to make the way of life a little easier for the one he loved so deeply. The deceased spent 18 years of her early married life with her husband in Kansas, but in 1901 the couple came back to Anamosa & this place has been home for 25 years. There were no children born to Mr. & Mrs. Bowers, but out of their love for children, a baby girl was adopted, who grew up in the home & became a beloved daughter to them, & who is now Mrs. Harley SNYDER, who with her husband, Harley, one of Anamosa's successful dairymen, & their 2 daughters, Geraldine & Irene, together with many nephews & nieces are left to mourn the death of one much beloved. Funeral services were held from the Loder Funeral Home on Wed. 23 Dec., at 2 o'clock. Mr. & Mrs. H. D. Green accompanied by Mrs. L. A. Miller at the piano sang the requested songs, "Beautiful Isle" & "We'll Never Say Goodbye". Pallbearers were: Messrs, D. A. Downing, Frank Richards, Dan Stivers, Dan James, Ernie Ruhl, & Will Strawman. Interment was made at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Harry D.
