She joined the Methodist church at Hebron in early child hood, was a member of a large family all of which have preceded her in death except one sister, Miss Ella Singleton, of Shelbyville, Mo., two nieces and two nephews in Kansas City, Mo., and one nephew in Kirksville, Mo. After years of weary, yet patient waiting the summons came last Thursday as a tender mercy to relieve her of intense suffering. But there's a hand at the helm that makes our seasons and why should we dread to embark? the pilot's face will light the way and when we reach the sun kissed shore it will be to greet the loved ones gone before, just as we daily stand at the pier awaiting the incoming vessel with loved ones aboard. Carrie loved her church and attended upon its ordinances, and Sunday school as long as she was able to attend. Funeral services were conducted at the Leonard Christian church Saturday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. L. C. Maggart of Clarence, Mo., whose well deserved tributes gave a beautiful lesson of faith exemplified to the large assembly of friends present and the remains were tenderly laid to rest amid a profusion of floral emblems from friends of the family, in the beautiful cemetery at Leonard, Mo.
