Ms. Best was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that will be missed by many. She enjoyed serving her community and spent countless hours volunteering her time. Ms. Best... Read More	Carrie Skipper Best passed away at her home on Friday, May 22, 2020. Born September 22, 1949 in Conway, SC, she was the daughter of the late George and Lula Skipper. Ms. Best was a loving daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and friend that will be missed by many. She enjoyed serving her community and spent countless hours volunteering her time. Ms. Best retired from Horry County Government on March 1, 2001 after serving the county for 26 years as the Director of Human Services Division (3 years) and the Director of Emergency Medical Services (23 years). Ms. Best was a former President of the Conway Pilot Club, International Officer of the US Pilot Club, President of the Conway Jaycee-etts; President of the South Carolina Jaycee-etts; SC finished first in the Nation during her Presidency. Ms. Best was also a member of the North Conway Baptist Church where she had served as a Children's Sunday School teacher for 8 years and the Finance Chairman for 5 years. In addition to her parents, Ms. Best was predeceased by four brothers; Dock, Kelly, Oliver, and George Skipper; one sister, Ruby Godwin; three brothers-in-law; Lamar Calder, Arthur Culler, and Mack Godwin; and two sisters-in-law, Clarice Skipper and Gladys Skipper. Surviving are her three sisters, Dottie Calder, Lou Culler and Ethel (Bobby) Davis; sister-in-law, Pat Skipper; 19 nieces and nephews; and 33 great nieces and nephews. She loved spending time with her family and her nephew, Robby Davis, who was more like a son to her. Ms. Best also leaves behind a special friend, Wally Lasher. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, May 24, 2020 at Free Worship FWB Church cemetery, officiated by Dr. Jeffrey L. Gaskins. Goldfinch Funeral Home
