Clow was born July 12th, 1992 and departed this life, surrounded by relatives and friends, March 20, 1910, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Clow, in Allerton. She was married to Albert F. Parrott Nov. 22, 1905. She was converted and joined the M. P. church at Zion Hill 12 years ago and has lived a faithful and consistant Christian life until the end. Carrie was always one of those dear sweet girls, like a ray of sunshine wherever she went, her life was always that of a Christian. She was respected and loved by all who knew her, especially by those who knew her in her old home in Clinton township, where the greater part of her life was spent. Her sickness was cause for much anxiety and solicitude on the part of her many friends and we say not from force of habit nor to be conventional. Having been born and reared in Wayne county her is is known to all. She was a good worker in the Church having served as organist for a number of years at the Zion Hill church and she was always ready and willing to do her very best. Carrie was a loving and faithful wife and made a happy home for her husband, and as a daughter she was unequalled. It seems to be her sole always to do all the good she could to please her parents and make them happy. She was never so happy as when surrounded by her dear ones in their home. She did all the good could while life lasted, it was hers to go early and to go prepared to he new home, the city that hath foundation whose builder and maker is God. She died a peaceful and happy death saying "It is only a step or tow and its all right.: almost her last words were "I;m stepping on the stones and I;m almost across." To have such a faith as her's is worth a great deal to all of us who are left behind to mourn her loss. The beautiful funeral service was held at the M. E. church, and preached, by her pastor, Rev. L. E. Ripley. She was laid to rest in the Allerton cemetery followed by a large concourse of relatives and friends, a dear one from us has gone but we shall see her again in a better and happier place. The memory of her sweet life will linger among us like fragrance from the wealth of flowers.
