Description	:	Carrie went by Winifred. After college she had the chance to teach in Alaska. She married Joshua Andrew Ring on March 22, 1924 in Stockham Ne. They made their home near Lincoln, Ne until 1937. They then moved to Modale Iowa and resided there until retirement from farming. They then moved to Blair Ne. where they lived until their passing. After college she had the chance to teach in Alaska. She married Joshua Andrew Ring on March 22, 1924 in Stockham Ne. They made their home near Lincoln, Ne until 1937. They then moved to Modale Iowa and resided there until retirement from farming. They then moved to Blair Ne. where they lived until their passing. They had 6 children, 5 boys and 1 girl. 1 boy and the girl died at birth. They raised 4 boys—Dean the oldest, Clinton who was killed in the war, Gail, and James. When Clinton left to go the service, he said "Maybe if I go fight in this war, James will not have to enlist, the war will be over." Winifred and Josh attended the Methodist church in Modale and then Blair. Winifred was a great cook. She made the best ice tea from tea leaves. She enjoyed knitting and was a great seamstress. NOTE: Her nephew Gary Elkins, found the following notes that she had written. "Growing up, I felt closest to my twin brother Alfred. We never had the same childhood diseases. We would walk a mile and a quarter thru the fields to grade school. We drove a horse and buggy for 3 years of high school in Stockham, Nebraska. I went to Peru State Normal School for my senior year. I then taught school and would go to summer school at Peru. Alfred Went to Aurora for his senior year. I lived at Percival, Iowa until I was 4 and then we moved to Stockham, Nebraska. About once a year we would go to visit Grandma and Grandpa Rogers at Percival."
