On May 15, 1955, she married Dudley Wells of Axtell. Survivors include her beloved husband, Dudley, with whom she was blessed to live with for 59 years; and children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, the delights of her life: son, Mark Wells and his wife, Nancy, of Axtell; daughters, Jennifer Wells of Dexter Ore., and Ann O'Sullivan of Wahoo; grandchildren, Rachel Hawkins and husband, Keith, Brent Wells and his wife, Cassie, and Blake Wells, all of Axtell, Cristin Rhoades and husband, Jon, of Aurora, Amy Virgl and her husband, Tyler, and Scott O'Sullivan, all of Wahoo; great-grandchildren, Ashton and Morgan Hawkins, Ryleigh and Madison Wells and Micah, Emary, Issac and Sarah Rhoades; and many family and friends. Carrol was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Macon and confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minden. Her confirmation verse was 1 John 5:12-13. "He who has the Son has life, he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life." She was raised in a loving Christian home, and her faith was evident throughout her life. She attended Minden Public School and graduated in 1952. She went on to work for the Ford dealership as its secretary until she and Dudley married and moved to the family farm. She married Dudley Dale Wells at Fredericksburg Lutheran Church southeast of Minden. She and Dudley were best friends forever. When Carrol became ill in summer 2013, Dudley stepped up and took over household duties and care for Carrol. It was both their wish that Carrol remain at home throughout the duration of her illness. Carrol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Axtell. Her spiritual devotion was evident in the service she provided to Trinity, Christian Women's Club, and the many Friendship Bible Coffees she helped to start and attend over the years. Most important to Carrol were salvation through Jesus Christ, Dudley, her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family and friends. She joyously has gone home to be with her God.
