Read More	Carroll Edward Kennedy, of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Cloverlodge Care Center, St. Edward, Nebraska. Carroll son of John and Julia (Carroll) Kennedy, was born September 16, 1925 at St. Edward, Nebraska. Carroll was baptized at St. Edward Catholic Church, St. Edward, Nebraska moved with his family to a farm east of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska and attended St. Anthony's Catholic School. In 1943, he moved to a farm west of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska where he farmed with his parents and drove a truck. He entered the United States Army on July 27, 1951 and was honorably discharged on July 27, 1953. During his service, he was stationed in Japan for a year. Carroll was united in marriage to Jeanine Mildred Chana on November 21, 1953 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Mapleton, Wisconsin. They lived on the home place where he continued to farm until his retirement in 2003, when they moved into town. In September 2012, he entered the Cloverlodge Care Center in St. Edward, Nebraska Carroll was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and going for drives through the country. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren and was proud of his Irish heritage. Carroll and Jeanine were married for nearly 60 years and raised nine children. Carroll is survived by his wife Jeanine Kennedy of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska; children, Allen (Sue) Kennedy of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, Donna (Dan) Marvin of Lincoln, Nebraska, James (Lisa) Kennedy of Cedar Rapids, Nebraska, Julia Kennedy of Washington D.C., Sharon Kennedy of Lincoln, Nebraska, Loraine (Pascal) Kennedy-Weil of Bordeaux, France; Robert (Cindy) Kennedy of Doniphan, Nebraska, Michelle (Paul) Skultety of Tampa, Florida and Ryan Kennedy of Ashland, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren; siblings, Melvin "Bud" Kennedy of Grand Island Nebraska, Jeanne Lutz of Houston Texas and Joan Batenhorst of Omaha Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Carroll was preceded in death by: parents, John and Julia Kennedy; brothers, Leonard, Arnold and Donald Kennedy and sisters, Lucille Ruma and Maxine Robinson. Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Church Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.
