Description	:	Carroll Ellsworth Warnock, son of Russell John Warnock and Doll (Bright) Warnock, was born on April 10, 1921 in Decatur County, Iowa and passed away peacefully on March 13, 2018 at the age of 96. Carroll grew up in Lineville, Iowa and was a 1938 graduate of Lineville High School. He was united in marriage to Mabel Louise (Litton) Warnock on October 7, 1943 and to this union three children were born. Read More	Carroll Ellsworth Warnock, son of Russell John Warnock and Doll (Bright) Warnock, was born on April 10, 1921 in Decatur County, Iowa and passed away peacefully on March 13, 2018 at the age of 96. Carroll grew up in Lineville, Iowa and was a 1938 graduate of Lineville High School. He was united in marriage to Mabel Louise (Litton) Warnock on October 7, 1943 and to this union three children were born. Carroll was inducted into the US Army 121st Infantry 8th Division Oct. 24, 1942. He was deployed to the European Theater Operations (ETO) Dec. 5, 1942 and arrived initially in Ireland Dec. 15, 1942. He was at Omaha Beach in Normandy, France on July 4, 1943, and served in France, Luxembourg & Germany and received the Bronze Star Medal Feb. 26, 1945. He served as a mortar gunner. He was wounded by an exploding mortar in Bonn, Germany on March 16, 1945 which cost him his hearing in one ear & severely injured his shoulder. He was honorably discharged from a hospital in Chickasaw, Oklahoma Oct. 22, 1945. Carroll & Louise operated many businesses in the Lineville area. Most notably, he opened Warnock Stockyards in 1950 buying hogs and eventually opened a second location in Trenton, Mo. He also co-owned a trucking business with Howard Wilson to haul the hogs. In 1972, Carroll & Louise opened Warnock Trailer Sales selling a full line of trailers, parts, and other misc. supplies. Carroll stopped buying hogs in 1978 and sold the trailer sales business and retired at the age of 90 in 2011. Carroll's passion was raising & showing ponies and bird dogs, hunting, fishing and spending time with family; especially supporting his children, grandchildren and all Lineville activities and events. Carroll was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise; his son, John; sisters, Doris & Lois; son-in-law, Jim; brother-in-law Bob Hanson; and his in-laws, Hugh & Grace. He is survived by his two daughters, Linda and Twylia ; a daughter-in-law, Christina Warnock; seven grandchildren, Wesley, Zachary, Cheri, Jonathan, David, Darby and Darcy; 10 great-grandchildren, Alyssia, James and Zooey, Andrew & Jacob , Kylee & Kale and Miley, Milly & Marley and by a niece, nephew and many friends. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 19 at Roberson Funeral Home, Lineville, IA. Burial with Military Rites will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Lineville, IA.
