Read More	Carroll Eugene Morgan, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Morgan, was born September 15, 1903, near Clarinda, Iowa, and departed this life at his home in Albion, May 22, 1939, at the age of 35 years, eight months and seven days. Apparently in the best of health, he contracted an ordinary cold which quickly developed into double pneumonia, and despite all that kind and loving hands could do, it proved fatal. At 15 years of age Carroll came with his parents to Nebraska, locating near Loretto. November 25, 1925, he was married to Ferne Lynn of Lovell, Wyoming. This union was visibly blessed with three children, Teddy 12, Merridy 7, and Carroll Lynn who passed away in infancy. Except for a few months residence at Lovell, Wyoming, Carroll and family have for many years lived in or near Albion. At an early age he was converted and baptized in the Methodist faith with his membership in the Loretto Methodist church. When 16 years old Carroll sustained an arm fracture in a base ball game, resulting in a severe physical affliction, from which he never fully recovered. Yet he was never known to complain and in his final illness was a wonderful example of patience and fortitude. He was naturally blessed with a pleasant and happy disposition and always had a smile and a kind word for all, striving to always look on the bright side of life and to lend a helping hand to those about him. In principle and deed, he stood for the best interests of his home and community. Carroll was an active member of the Knights of Pythias lodge and a member of the Albion Fire Department. Because of his unselfish spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved and highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two children, his father and mother, five sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Lorenz Berg of Albion; Mrs. Lloyd Wright of Salem, Oregon; Myron Morgan of Albion; Mrs. Eugene Mowery of Bellwood; Mrs. Ray Reynoldson of Albion; Spencer, Kathryn and Ronald of Albion; besides other relatives and a host of friends. One brother, Doral Dean, passed away when two months old. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Methodist church conducted by Rev. R. A. Trowbridge. A mixed quartette composed of Mrs. Henry Warner, Mrs. Glenn Cramer, Ray Whiting, Jr., and Homer Pont, accompanied by Mrs. R. S. Hutchinson, sang two numbers. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. (Albion Weekly News – Albion, Nebraska – May 25, 1939)
