Description	:	The son of George W. and Pearl B. (Zickel) Peery, he was born January 16, 1925, in Galesburg. On May 13, 1951, he married Patricia J. "Pat" Humes in Newton. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Division during the Korean War. He worked 24 years for the Iowa Department of Transportation in highway maintenance and retired in 1987. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Armored Division during the Korean War. He worked 24 years for the Iowa Department of Transportation in highway maintenance and retired in 1987. He enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and taking care of his yard. He loved playing with his grandchildren, fishing and mushroom hunting. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was a member of the Masonic Monumental No. 311 Lodge in Galesburg. He lived in the Galesburg and Reasnor areas most of his life and moved to Newton in 2001. Carroll F. Peery, 82, of Newton died Sunday January 21, 2007, in Newton. The funeral service was January 24,2007 at Holy Trinity Church in Newton with Rev. Carrie LaPlante officiating. Burial will be at the Newton Memorial Park Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Patricia of Newton; a son, Christopher S. (and Christine) Peery of Newton; daughter, Lori D. (and Craig) Davis of West Des Moines; four grandchildren, James Sutton, Rose Davis, Craig Davis Jr. and Claire Peery; and a nephew, Craig Sparks. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Lorene L. De Kock and Leah V Sparks.
