He was born January 16, 1907 in Peru, Iowa, son of the late Omer P. Beverlin and the late Penelope Kate Clark. Carroll received his education at a country school for four years and then East Peru School where he met his future wife, Irene Emerson. They were married December 10, 1929 near Peru and had three daughters. In 1948, Carroll and Irene built a house in Winterset where the girls attended high school. In March 1955, they returned to the farm.... Read More	Carroll Omer Beverlin, 100 years old of Winterset, IA, died Friday, September 7, 2007 in Country Haven Guest Home, Winterset, Iowa. He was born January 16, 1907 in Peru, Iowa, son of the late Omer P. Beverlin and the late Penelope Kate Clark. Carroll received his education at a country school for four years and then East Peru School where he met his future wife, Irene Emerson. They were married December 10, 1929 near Peru and had three daughters. In 1948, Carroll and Irene built a house in Winterset where the girls attended high school. In March 1955, they returned to the farm. Carroll retired from farming in 1976 and spent his time refinishing antique furniture for friends and family. He enjoyed traveling, covering most of the United States plus numerous trips abroad. Besides farming, Carroll spent 35 years as a substitute mail carrier. He served on the Power Board of Southwest Federated in Creston for 17 years and Farmers Electric in Greenfield for 21 years. He was a member of Evening Star Lodge#43 A.F.&A.M. and Winterset Chapter #180 O.E.S. He belonged to the United Methodist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Carol Cobbs of Truro, Sandra Wallace of Cape Coral, FL , Jill Cameron (Gerald) of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, James Rodney Rood (Louise) of Puyallup, WA, Rhonda Rae Phillips (Denny) of Peru, Randall Craig Rood (Cassie) of Lacona, Stacey Ann Carroll (Ronnie) of Winter Park, FL, Robert David Cameron of Red Wing, MN, Karen Beth Anderson (Gerry) of Cape Coral, FL, Julie Lynn Briss (Cary) of Morrehead, MN; 15 great grandchildren; and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Corwin, Dale, Bob, Jim; sisters, Lorraine, Lois, Reva, Bernice; and sons-in-law, Gordon Cobbs and Jim Wallace.
