Read More	Carroll Wallace Leen 1/5/1920 - 8/10/2010 Carroll Wallace Leen, born in Eureka, California on January 5, 1920, to Norwegian immigrants, Nels and Anne, was the youngest of eight children. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Melvin, Norman, and Alfred, and sisters, Alma, Angie, Selma, and Sarah. Carroll married the love of his life, Caroline Reina Highstreet, in 1942. A day younger than him, they were true and faithful sweethearts. Carroll and Caroline spent fifty-two years together. He was her caregiver for many of those years – always with a cheerful countenance and a loving heart. She was called to eternal life in 1994. Several years later, he married his dear friend, Gloria Ball, and is survived by her after eleven years of marriage. Prior to his illness, they spent many years traveling and enjoying each other's company. Carroll was a caring husband, a wonderful father, and a loving and beloved grandfather. He had a gentle nature, exemplified goodness, and lived his life by being an example for others. Carroll served in the Army during Wold War II. He worked many years at McClellan AFB in Sacramento, and during that time, he became a real estate broker, often foregoing his commissions in order to help young homeowners get a start. He loved vegetable gardening and tending to his fruit trees. Often, one could find him somewhere in the house, tinkering with his plethora of tools and gadgets. Carroll lived for many years in the Sacramento area. Stricken with Lewy Body Dementia, he spent his last years in Fairfield, California. He is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Robert Leen; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Robert Lown; step-daughters and husbands, Dianne and Chuck Ailes; and Nancy and Jack Paddon. His grandchildren loved and admired him – Julie Anne; Zachary and wife, Kimberly; Carol Marie; and Oliver and wife, Nicole; and step-grandchildren – Robin and husband, Brett; Doug and wife, Sandy; Scott; and Lindsy. He was fortunate to have six great-grandchildren, Adante´, Allanah, Thomas, Adara, Declan, and Delaney; and five step-great-grandchildren, Robby, Cole, Chloe, Brady, and Jared. Carroll had a huge circle of friends and a large family. We will miss the man who was very much a part of our lives. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11 a.m. At Lassila Funeral Chapels in Auburn, CA. Interment to follow at New Auburn Cemetery.
