On Jan. 15, 1938, he married Ethel Keyser who survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jeannie Long and husband, Garland L. Long of Harrisonburg; and Diane Walton and husband, Wylie E. Walton of Roanoke; a sister, Lorene M. Long of Luray; a grandson, Kevin L. Long of Harrisonburg; a granddaughter, Kimberly S. Vaughan of New Market and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Willie N. Comer Jr. Burial in St. Luke's Cemetery at Alma, Stanley, Va.
