Description	:	Carry Bayard Evitt was born October 13, 1892 to Charles and Emma Rorrick Evitt at Guthrie Center, Iowa. He passed away at Ft. Lupton, Colorado at the age of 81 years, 11 months, 17 days. He was united in marriage to Blanche Thierman on January 25, 1917. To this union were born seven children; Phillip Bayard, James Wendell, who passed away October 11, 1921, Ellen Elaine, Charles Hubert, Russell Dean, Franklin Theodore, and Howard Wesley. Read More	Carry Bayard Evitt was born October 13, 1892 to Charles and Emma Rorrick Evitt at Guthrie Center, Iowa. He passed away at Ft. Lupton, Colorado at the age of 81 years, 11 months, 17 days. He was united in marriage to Blanche Thierman on January 25, 1917. To this union were born seven children; Phillip Bayard, James Wendell, who passed away October 11, 1921, Ellen Elaine, Charles Hubert, Russell Dean, Franklin Theodore, and Howard Wesley. Mr. Evitt and family moved to Wayne County March 1, 1930 where he farmed until 1970 when he moved to Corydon and resided at 401 W. Anthony. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Gay Wildman, one son, James and two grandchildren, Hugh and Teddy Evitt. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Blanche, Phillip and wife Arnette Evitt of Corydon, Elaine and husband Harry Starrett of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Hubert and wife Judy of Ft. Lupton, Colorado; Dean and wife Lillian of Williston, North Dakota; Red of Polson, Montana; and Howard and wife Evelyn of Corydon. Sixteen grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, one sister Twilah Chilcote of Casper, Wyoming and many friends and relatives. He was a good and faithful member of the United Methodist Church. Mr. Evitt died while in Ft. Lupton, Colorado where they had gone to attend the funeral of his grandson Hugh Evitt who had been killed in an auto accident, September 27. Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 3, 1974 at 1:30 at the Wolf Funeral Home in Corydon. Reverend Robert Smith officiated at the services. Appropriate music was provided by George Runyon. Pallbearers were Gary McMurry, Tom Fry, David Storett, Paul Evitt, Rodney Evitt and Ron Johnson. From The Times-Republican - Corydon, Iowa - October 10, 1974
