Description	:	SCRANTON -- Carvin Alvin McCutcheon, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at his residence after an illness. Mr. McCutcheon was born in Scranton, a son of the late Cullie S. and Hattie Yarborough McCutcheon. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and was formerly employed by W.W. Collins & Company, he was a supervisor for Miller Tobacco Company for 20 years and a farmer until his retirement. Mr. McCutcheon was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church, where he was trustee, church treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and a Deacon for 44 years, having served since 1958. He was... Read More	SCRANTON -- Carvin Alvin McCutcheon, 75, died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at his residence after an illness. Mr. McCutcheon was born in Scranton, a son of the late Cullie S. and Hattie Yarborough McCutcheon. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and was formerly employed by W.W. Collins & Company, he was a supervisor for Miller Tobacco Company for 20 years and a farmer until his retirement. Mr. McCutcheon was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church, where he was trustee, church treasurer, Sunday School Superintendent and a Deacon for 44 years, having served since 1958. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and a member of the American Legion. Mr. McCutcheon was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Clara Kinder McCutcheon of Scranton; two sons, Eddie (Patricia) McCutcheon and Mitchell (Sherri) McCutcheon, both of Scranton; a sister, Felicia (Stanley) Baldwin of Florence; six grandchildren, Brandon (Melody) McCutcheon of Scranton, Chad (Amy) McCutcheon of Lake City, Jason (Krystal) McCutcheon of Scranton, Amy McCutcheon of Lake City, Daniel (Jami) Perry of Scranton and Ashley Perry of Scranton; four great grandchildren, Elijah McCutcheon of Lake City, Matthew McCutcheon of Scranton, Olivia Perry of Scranton, Lindley McCutcheon of Scranton; special caregivers, Annie Pearl McGill and Millie Altman, both of Scranton. Mr. McCutcheon was predeceased by three sisters, Wilma Altman, Valorie Driggers and Vennie Cannon; a great grandson, Saviyon McFadden. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in the Gilead Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gilead Free Will Baptist Church, PO Box 208, Scranton, S.C. 29591. Brockington Funeral Home, Lake City, is in charge.
