Obituary- Another pioneer resident, Casper Benesh, was taken from our midst Tuesday to serve God in the better world. The deceased passed away at the home of his son Joseph after being ill seven months. Mr. Benesh was born in Vexbudova, Bohemia, in 1836. He came to America in 1869, accompained by his wife, Anna Maroushka, and several friends, and settled in Spillville. His wife preceded him in death five years. This union was blessed with six children, Mary and James, deceased, Frances, (Mrs. Carr), of Portland, Oregon, Frank of St. Paul, John of Cedar Rapids and Joseph of Spillville, Iowa. The deceased was an upright citizen, a kind father, loving husband and good neighbor. Funeral services were held in the St. Wenceslaus church on Friday at 10 o'clock, Rev. Broz officiating. The pall bearers were Jos. Patches, John Soukup, James Triska, Joe Stadle, James Stephens and John Swehla.
