(Cash) Harness, 51, World War I veteran and prominent member of the 100F and Rebekah lodges, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 5:45 a.m. May 12,1950 at his home, 1106 Mercury street. He had been employed at the Miller Chevrolet Co., 23 years and was very active in machanic circles. In poor health two years. Mr Harness was released from the Wadsworth Veterans Hospital April 3 after being treated three weeks for stomack ulcers. Furneral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stanton Chapel, the Rev. Raymond Buck officiating. 100F services will be at the grave site. Cassain David Harness was born November 7,1898 at Iowa Point, Kansas the son of David Harness and Mary Adams-Harness. He was reared in Doniphan County. He enlisted in the navy during World War I and served on a mine laying ship with headquarters in Scotland. On December 22, 19 , he married Elsie Mae Muncie. They had four children together: June Arlene Harness-Diffley, Lorena Mae Harness-Whittaker, Donald David (Don) Harness and Dean Elijah Harness.
