Description	:	Foote - Mrs. Catharine Foote was born in Galway, Saratoga County, N.Y. March 14, 1802, and died in Otoe County, Nebraska September 27, 1887. Her maiden name was Greene. She was a distant relative of General Greene, of Revolutionary fame. For several years she followed teaching, in which work she was eminently successful. On August 24, 1841, she married Mr. Joseph Foote at Saratoga Springs. In 1857 they moved to Nebraska, and were among its first settlers. On August 24, 1841, she married Mr. Joseph Foote at Saratoga Springs. In 1857 they moved to Nebraska, and were among its first settlers. She was converted when about 20 and joined the Presbyterian church, but when the Methodist Episcopal class was organized at Galway Corners she was one of the first to join it. She was a woman of fine sensibilities and of great taste. As a Christian, she was devout and thoroughly consistent. While her strength would permit, she was a great worker, chiefly in the Sunday school. For many years she was a sufferer, but patience has its perfect work.
