Lingschiet, at the age of 78 years and 3 months. She was born at Luxemberg Feb. 2, 1820, and was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Dietrich Jan, 17, 1843. They came to America in 1848 and settled in Dubuque county, Iowa. In 1885 she went with her husband to South Dakota, where they resided until August 8, 1894, when they came to Cherokee where she died. She leaves her husband, four daughters and two sons to mourn. There was born to this union ten children, four of whom have gone before. One of them was killed in the battle of Vicksburg, one died at Centreville, SD in the year 1894, and two in their infancy. The funeral service was held in the Catholic church In this city on Wednesday May 4.
