Read More	Partial Obituary People/Daily Record September 1, 2015 Catherine Anne Cain Catherine Anne (Knopp) Cain, 70, formerly of Chapman died May 1, 2015, at her home in Fulton, Mo., after a long and valiant struggle with cancer. Catherine was born in Abilene on June 18, 1944, an only child to Jesse Edward and Minnie Irene Pyke Knopp. Catherine graduated from Chapman High School and attended Emporia State College and Kansas Wesleyan University. She married John Norman Fasse in 1964. Of this union, two children were born, Candace Christine & Jason Christopher Fasse. Catherine and John later divorced. Catherine was a district sales manager for Avon Products, Inc., in Kansas later in Arizona worked as an X-Ray certified dental office coordinator. Catherine married James Franklin "Jake" Cain on July 4, 1976, in Mesa, Ariz., where they lived until they moved their home south of Chapman and began their Roto Rooter plumbing business in 1988. During retirement years, they enjoyed raising and showing alpacas. From 2002 to early 2012, Catherine worked at the Eisenhower Presidential Library, Museum and Boyhood Home in Abilene. Catherine and Jim moved to Missouri to be closer to her family during hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents and several of her cousins. Catherine was admired for her strength, both in her personal life and in business, and was a great source of inspiration and wisdom for her children and grandchildren. She overcame many obstacles and she did not presevere but triumphed over all that she battled, with the exception of this unforgiving disease. Catherine truly and deeply loved her husband of 39 years, Jim, as did he love her. She will leave a great void in the lives of those who love her, but her legacy is in the strength she passes to her family. Cremation has taken place and, at Catherine's request, a private burial of the ashes will be held at Abilene Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to charities of the donor's choice.
