Description	:	The daughter of Ruth Bowker, Catherine married as the second wife of Joseph Jacob Whiting at Boston on Nov. 22, 1815. They were the parents of the following known children, Joseph J., Jr., born in 1819; and Catherine, born in 1824 and died in 1826. Widowed in 1838, she was fortunate to receive financial and emotional support from her son Joseph who was a successful banker and wholesale clothing merchant in Boston. Catherine was 84 years and seven months of age when she died of "Old Age" at Hingham.
