She had anticipated the observance of her 100th Birthday for some time, and when the day arrived only Sunday. Jan, 4. was able to sit in her rocking chair and enjoy the centennial in the company of family of her son, Samuel P. Drinnin Sr., with grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered about her for the momentous occasion. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bonaventure Church for Mrs. Drinnin, a lifetime Catholic. Her pastor. Rev. Fr. Benedict J. La Rocque of Norfolk will conduct the service. Burial will be in Columbus Cemetery. The body will lie in state at Gas-Hancy Funeral Home after 1 p.m. today until the hour of the funeral. Mrs. Drinnin, the daughter of John Browner, pioneer, and Margret O'Conner Curry Browner, was born in Columbus at the Browner home, 1803 sixth street. In 1874, her father built a spacious home on the Browner farm two miles northeast of town and moved his family there. Mrs. Drinnin had two half brothers, Samuel B. Jr., and John M. Curry; two brothers, William F. and James C. Browner; a sister, Helen, Mrs. Albert Gehner of St.Louis, who in 1941 gave the Platte County Agricultural Park, the former James C. Browner farm, to the people of Platte County. Catherine Browner received her formal education in the Columbus Schools and the attended St. Francis Academy and Columbus High School. She was graduated from Fremont Normal College at Fremont, Neb., and taught in the Platte County, Colfax County and Columbus Schools. Her marriage to Samuel P. Drinnin took place in St. Bonaventure Church on Dec 25, 1895. They made their home on a farm near the Browner School , then northeast of Columbus. Her husband, also a graduate of Fremont Normal College, was a member of a well-known Platte County family. He died March 24, 1924. Samuel and Catherine Browner Drinnin had four children: Grace, a graduate nurse of Wise Memorial Hospital Omaha, the wife of Dr. Frank Krampert, died at Rawlins, Wyo., July 23, 1925; Samuel P. Drinnin, a prominent farmer and stock raiser of the Columbus community; Joseph H. Drinnin 2nd of Seattle, and Margaret, Mrs. E. F. Truede of San Francisco. Her four grandchildren are Mrs. William H. (Bette Jeanne Thompson) Cereske of San Francisco; Samuel P. Drinnin Jr. and Mrs. Don (KatherineDrinnin) Rodehorst of Columbus; Mrs. L.G. (Grace Drinnin) Gerrard of Central City. The 12 great-grandchildren include William Hamilton Cereske Jr., and Catherine Camille Cereske of San Francisco; Judy Diane and Michael Samuel Drinnin; Linda Kay, Donna Jo, Susan Irene andTimothy Rodehorst of Columbus; Jean Elizabeth, Scott LeRoy and Laura Lee Gerrard of Central City. In addition to her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Carolyn Drinnin.
