Born in Cowpens, she was the widow of the late Odell (Mule) Finch and was the daughter of the late David Hester Helton and Minnie Lee Mathis Helton. Mrs. Finch retired from textiles and was of the Church of Christ faith. Read More	Gaffney, S.C. - Catherine Helton Finch, 84, formerly of 707 9th Street, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Peachtree Centre. Born in Cowpens, she was the widow of the late Odell (Mule) Finch and was the daughter of the late David Hester Helton and Minnie Lee Mathis Helton. Mrs. Finch retired from textiles and was of the Church of Christ faith. Surviving are three sons, James Finch, Ralph Finch and William Finch and wife, Sheila, all of Gaffney; two daughters, Guindal (Gwen) Hawkins and husband, Douglas, of Gaffney and Kathy Hembree of Cliffside, N.C.; a sister, Pauline Harris of Gaffney; eleven grandchildren, Angie Godfrey, Cathy Smiley and husband, Howard, Jr., Pam Addis and husband, Scotty, Tina Mauldin, Brad Finch and wife, Carrie, Chris Finch and wife, Charlene, Shane Finch, William Finch, Jr. and wife, Kristen, Lewis Finch and wife, Jenny, Leonard Finch and wife, Kristen and Brandi Finch; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by eight brothers, Jim Helton, Tillman Helton, David Helton, Eugene Helton, Noah Helton, Otis Helton, Roland Helton, and Frankie D. Helton, three infant brothers, five sisters, Bessie Edgins, Essie Waddell, Era Kelly, Louise Sanders and Verdie Ree Helton, her twin infant sons, a grandson, Freddie Hawkins and a granddaughter, Sharon Finch.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Blakely Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bruce Kanipe officiating. Pallbearers will be William Finch, Jr., Lewis Finch, Leonard Finch, Brad Finch, Chris Finch, Scotty Addis and Howard Smiley, Jr. Memorials may be made to: Meals on Wheels, P.O.
