Description	:	Catherine Belton, age 75, passed to her reward on May 19, 1914. She was born in West Meath, Ireland, April 2, 1839, and came to this country in 1848, settling in New York. She married Richard Belton in Will County, Illinois on July 4, 1860. She then emigrated with her husband, Richard Belton, deceased, to Marion county in 1873. She was the mother of 13 children, five of whom have died. Surviving her are Patrick, Elizabeth, Robert, Thomas, Eugene, Silvester, Mrs. Mayme Curry and Fred Belton. She was sick for three weeks, and was operated upon April 2nd,... Read More	Catherine Belton, age 75, passed to her reward on May 19, 1914. She was born in West Meath, Ireland, April 2, 1839, and came to this country in 1848, settling in New York. She married Richard Belton in Will County, Illinois on July 4, 1860. She then emigrated with her husband, Richard Belton, deceased, to Marion county in 1873. She was the mother of 13 children, five of whom have died. Surviving her are Patrick, Elizabeth, Robert, Thomas, Eugene, Silvester, Mrs. Mayme Curry and Fred Belton. She was sick for three weeks, and was operated upon April 2nd, her 75th birthday. She was not, on account of age, the vitality to recover her health and passed peacefully away, fortified with the last Sacraments. She was a member of the Altar Society, and the Society went in a body to Holy Communion for her soul. She was also a member of the Purgatorian Society. A Solemn Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr. Powers, pastor, as celebrant; Fr. Glynn as Decon, Fr. Fleming as Subdeacon. Fr. Powers preached an eloquent sermon, holding up her useful and practical life as an example, after which we must all pattern our lives if we wish to arrive at her peaceful end. She was buried in the Pilsen Cemetery beside her husband and deceased children. The entire community extend to the family their sincere condolence. The pall bearers were her sons, Robert, Thomas, Eugene, Silvester and Fred, and Francis Belton, her nephew. April 25, 1914 - The Catholic Advance
