Description	:	The daughter of Simon Bedard Sr. (c1765-bef1852) and Marie Ann "Marie" Brien dite Deroche(r) she was born February 20th, 1823 at Bathurst Twp., Lanark Co., ON and baptized July 6th, 1823 at St. Bridget's (St. John the Baptist) at Perth, Lanark Co., ON. She married James David Bowland before 1845, some sources have February 17th, 1844 at New York State. They had a daughter Kate born at New York State about 1845 and a son James David born November 25th, 1848 at Bedford Twp., Frontenac Co., ON. By 1851 they had removed to Wisconsin where a daughter Mary was born... She married James David Bowland before 1845, some sources have February 17th, 1844 at New York State. They had a daughter Kate born at New York State about 1845 and a son James David born November 25th, 1848 at Bedford Twp., Frontenac Co., ON. By 1851 they had removed to Wisconsin where a daughter Mary was born about 1851 followed by sons Simon Peter, about 1852, and Oscar in May, 1860. Her husband, a mariner, enlisted as a Private in Co. G., 1st New York Marine Artillery in 1863 and served a year. Their son James' obituary records his father died during the war but curiously his wife's claim for a Widow's Pension was denied, possibly because a James David Bowland applied for a Pension as a Private in Co. G, 1st New York Marine Artillery June 7th, 1886 at California. She is found on the 1860, 1870 and 1880 US Censuses at Racine, Wisconsin. In 1886 she removed to Burntwood Twp., Rawlins, Kansas with her son James David and is found there on the 1900 US Census and died there in 1902.
