Description	:	Catherine Darlene Reiman, 70, of Grand Island passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at Wedgewood Care Center in Grand Island. A Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. (MST) Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Benkelman, with the Rev. Matthew Eickhoff celebrating. Interment will follow in the Benkelman Cemetery at Benkelman. Arrangements are by Benkelman Memorial Chapel. Catherine was born Jan. 30, 1947, at Benkelman to Charlie and Mary (Lehn) Reiman. As a young girl, she attended District 18 Country School. She then attended Benkelman High School, graduating in 1965. Catherine gained employment with the Dundy County Hospital after graduation, working in the dietary department until her health began failing in the late 1980s. Benkelman was her home until 2007, when she moved to Palmer to be near family. Catherine was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church of Benkelman. She enjoyed spending time with her family, scrapbooking, collecting Precious Moments figurines and attending garage sales. She organized many family reunions and spent many hours compiling information for a Reiman family genealogy book. Catherine enjoyed her many pets that she had throughout her life and never turned away a stray. Catherine is survived by her brothers, Charles Reiman and wife, Shirley, of Wray, Colo., Jim Reiman and wife, Benita, of Evans, Colo., and John Reiman of Salina, Kan.; sisters, Evelyn Vig of Casper, Wyo., and Patricia Hays of Palmer; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Reiman of Braintree Essex, England, and Evelyn Reiman of Benkelman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gilbert (Arlene) Reiman, Bernard (Bessie) Reiman, Wilbur Reiman, Eugene Reiman and Robert Reiman; and brothers-in-law, Robert Hays, Byron Bowers and Raymond Vig.
