Elliott Katherine Dorcas Easterbrook, daughter of Mahlon and Emma Easterbrook, was born January 4, 1864 and closed the epoch of human life June 29, 1935, age 71 years, 5 months and 25 days. She was born at Clinton, Iowa, and at the age of three years her parents were drawn by the urge of the west and moved to Oklahoma, then to Missouri, finally moving to Nebraska where they settled on a farm near Carleton. On November 1, 1883, she was united in marriage to Parker C. Elliott. To this union six daughters were born, Emma, Maude, Ethel, Josephine, Laurene and Edith. On November 1, 1933, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. She was a devoted Christian all her life and a willing church worker when her health would permit. The deceased had been in poor health for a number of years and the past twelve weeks was confined to her bed. She passed away on Saturday evening, June 29, 1935. Funeral services were held Monday at the U. B. church (sic) at Angus, conducted by Rev. W. T. Etherton assisted by Rev. Ivan Kilpatrick. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery (sic). She leaves to mourn her departure her devoted husband, six daughters, Mrs. John Caldwell, Hastings; Mrs. Smith Wimer, Sheridan, Wyo., Mrs. Arthur Kinnison, Angus; Mrs. R. N. Sare, Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Floyd Powell, Edgar, and Mrs. Lloyd Branstitre, Okmulgee, Okla.; four brothers, Guy Easterbrook, Hastings; Sam Easterbrook, Litchfield; Walter Easterbrook, Gooding, Iowa, and Than Easterbrook, Manson, Wash.; and one sister, Mrs. J. E. Shearer, Hebron; 21 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a loving mother and sister, a kind neighbor and loved by all who knew her. Those from out-of-town attending the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. John Caldwell, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Caldwell, Guy Easterbrook and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Braddick, Hastings; Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Easterbrook, Mrs. Agnes Easterbrook and Mrs. Willie Spangenberg, Litchfield; Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Shearer, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shearer, Mr. and Mrs. Mahlon Shearer and Mrs. Dale Shearer, Hebron; Mr. and Mrs. Keith Buerer, Clay Center; Mr .and Mrs. Sam Fitzmimmons, Hebron; Mr. and Mrs. Orin Spurling, Nelson; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Miller, Mrs. Cora Bower and Mrs. Ira Frazier, Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Waggoner, Marion June and Nadine, Chester; Mr. and Mrs. R. N. Sare and two sons, Parker and Jim, and Mrs. Smith Wimer, Sheridan, Wyo., and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Branstitre, Okmulgee, Okla.
