Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Cook, 62, wife of Jacob Cook of Laurel died Thursday at 7:30 a.m. at her home (in Laurel) of a heart ailment. Mrs. Cook had been in ill health several years. She was born Dec 7, 1891 in Kautz, Russia, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jacob Frank. She came to Lincoln, Neb., in 1903, from Russia and moved to Laurel in 1907. Mrs. Cook was married to Mr. Cook July 25, 1910, at Laurel. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Laurel. Survivors include her husband, Jacob; seven daughters, Mrs. George Behm, and Mrs. Emil Keierieber of Billings, Mrs. Carl Fossum, Mrs. Tim Wagner and Mrs. James Southworth of Laurel, Mrs. Larvel Geohring of Powell, Wyo., and Mrs. Ed Reichert of Belfry; six sons, Jacob Jr., and John of Hardin, Adolph of Edgar, Gilbert of Huntley and Henry and Conrad of Billings. Four brothers, Jacob of Scottsbluff, Neb., and Alex, Conrad and Henry of Laurel; three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Lackman, Mrs. Jacob Frank and Mrs. Lawrence Wilhelm of Laurel; 28 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The body is at the Settergren Funeral Home in Billings. Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Cook, 62, of Laurel were conducted Monday afternoon at the Laurel First Congregational. The Rev. H. C. Haemmelmann officiated. Mrs. Cook died at her home of heart ailment on Thursday. Mrs. Virel Guinn and Mrs. Harold Meyer, accompanied by Mrs. Haemmelmann, sang "Grace to Face", "In the Land of the Unsetting Sun" and "Christians Goodnight." Paullbearers were Mrs. Cook's sons, Jacob Jr., Adolph, Henry, John, Conrad and Gilbert Cook. Burial was in the Mountview Cemetery. Besides her sons, she is survived by her husband, seven daughters, 28 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.
