Description	:	DEMAREE, CATHERINE FAYE—Catherine Faye Sharp, daughter of Lewis and Hannah (Owens) Sharp, was born at Liberty, Neb., September 18, 1889. She passed away at her home in Stanton, Neb., June 20, 1963, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 2 days. She was a graduate of Peru normal and taught for two years at Ohiowa. Mr. Demaree preceded her in death,... Read More	DEMAREE, CATHERINE FAYE—Catherine Faye Sharp, daughter of Lewis and Hannah (Owens) Sharp, was born at Liberty, Neb., September 18, 1889. She passed away at her home in Stanton, Neb., June 20, 1963, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 2 days. She was a graduate of Peru normal and taught for two years at Ohiowa. She was united in marriage with Harold Demaree of Ohiowa, March 21, 1912, at Liberty. To this union were born a daughter, Dorothy, and a son, Halleck Donald, who died in infancy. Mr. Demaree preceded her in death, July 12, 1961. She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Arthur Adams), a granddaughter, Cathy Adams of Stanton, two brothers, Leo Sharp of Denver, Col., and Elmo Sharp of Lincoln, four nieces and one nephew. She and Mr. Demaree spent the first two years of their married life on a farm near Ohiowa. In 1914 they moved to a homestead near Thedford, later operating a ranch near Brownlee. In 1927 they went to Stanton, where Mr. Demaree operated a Chevrolet garage. Mrs. Demaree was very active in community affairs, having served as president of several different organizations while her health permitted. Death came unexpectedly from a heart attack although she had been in poor health for many months. Funeral services were held at the New England Congregational church in Stanton at 2 p. m. Monday, June 24, Rev. J. Arden Wild officiated. Funeral services were held at the Kritner-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m. on Tuesday, June 25, Rev. J Arden Wild officiated. Pallbearers at Geneva were Marion and Hobart Ridpath, Marion, Norman and Robert Yates, and Ralph Nun. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal July 4th, 1963 page 9.
