Description	:	Mrs. Catherine Hansen of LeMars, Iowa passed away at the home of her nephew, Emil Hoss Saturday evening, 9-1/2 miles northeast of Aberdeen, while on a visit here, having arrived only last Monday. Mrs. Hansen was born in Luxemburg Germany Feb. 12, 1857, where she grew to young womanhood. At the age of 25 years she came with her parents to the United States locating at Alton, Ia., where they purchased a farm and where they lived continually for 40 years. Mrs. Hansen was born in Luxemburg Germany Feb. 12, 1857, where she grew to young womanhood. At the age of 25 years she came with her parents to the United States locating at Alton, Ia., where they purchased a farm and where they lived continually for 40 years. She then moved to LeMars, Ia., where she resided for the past seven years. In 1860 she was married to John Hansen of Alton, Ia. To this union were born 12 children. She leaves to mourn: Joseph of Sioux City, Ia.; Mrs. Dick Schneider of Wilmont, Minn.; Ahmenn of Lynn, Minn.; Henry of Alton, Ia.; and Sister Emiliana and Sister Donata, both teachers of St. Francis Convent of Dubuque, Ia.; and Alois of Dubuque, Ia.; and Clem of Frankfort, S. D. Three children have preceded her, also her husband passing in 1897. Mrs. Hansen was a woman of beautiful christian character, very devoted wife and mother, and her passing while visiting here has been a great shock to her many relatives and friends. She was taken ill just a day after her arrival at the home of her nephew when she was stricken with apoplexy and on Thursday had a second stroke passing away on Saturday at 8:45. The body was brought to the Huebl chapel from where it will be taken to LeMars, Ia., where services will be held on Wednesday at 10 o'clock from St. Joseph's church. Interment will be in the family lot at Alton, Ia.
