Poweshiek Co., Ia., February 8, 1860 and passed away at her home in Brooklyn, Ia., September 18, 1936 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 10 days. She was one of 9 children of Henry and Mary R. Schultz. She was educated in the rural schools and confirmed in the Lutheran faith when quite young and in 1902 she with her beloved husband united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Brooklyn, Iowa, and was a faithful and devoted Christian as long as she lived. Poweshiek Co., Ia., February 8, 1860 and passed away at her home in Brooklyn, Ia., September 18, 1936 at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 10 days. She was one of 9 children of Henry and Mary R. Schultz. She was educated in the rural schools and confirmed in the Lutheran faith when quite young and in 1902 she with her beloved husband united with the Methodist Episcopal church in Brooklyn, Iowa, and was a faithful and devoted Christian as long as she lived. On September 9, 1879 she was united in marriage with Andrew Erickson and settled on a farm in Madison Township, in this county and remained there until 1893, after residing on various farms near Brooklyn. They erected a home here in 1901 where they have lived since retiring from farm life. Eight weeks ago she was bereft of her husband with whom she journeyed up life's highway for 57 years. To Mr. and Mrs. Erickson were born five children, Mrs. Will Calderwood, Mrs. Joe Ecklund, Mrs. Guy Ormiston all of Brooklyn, Nellie and Mabel who passed away in infancy. Besides her children she leaves eight grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Joe Ersile of Malcom, Otto and Henry Schultz of Sheridan Twp. with many nephews and nieces and a host of friends and acquaintances who mourn the passing of this fine Christian character. She was a member of the W.R.C. Ladies Aid, Home Dept. in S. S. and the W.H.M.S. She was active in all good works as long as her health permitted. Source: Poweshiek Obituaries
