Description	:	CATHERINE JENNIE HANSON SALINA-- Catherine Jennie Hanson, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Sheridan, Salina. Mrs. Hanson was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Clay County, the daughter of Thomas and Alta May Yowell Parry. She grew up in Clay Center and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1941. She married Clayton Hanson in October of 1941. They made their home in Oregon. Following World War II, they moved to Concordia and then to Manhattan. She worked at Dillons and Ben Franklin. Read More	CATHERINE JENNIE HANSON SALINA-- Catherine Jennie Hanson, 86, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, at Sheridan, Salina. Mrs. Hanson was born Nov. 10, 1922, in Clay County, the daughter of Thomas and Alta May Yowell Parry. She grew up in Clay Center and graduated from Clay County Community High School in 1941. She married Clayton Hanson in October of 1941. They made their home in Oregon. Following World War II, they moved to Concordia and then to Manhattan. She worked at Dillons and Ben Franklin. Her husband prececed her in death November 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister and one great-great-grandson. Survivors include one daughter, Cynthia Tholstrup of Concordia; four granddaughters, Marie Tholstrup-Nelson of Salina, Marsha Strang of Concordia, Melinda Seward of Concordia and Amie Blake of Manhattan; 10 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the Neill-Schwensen-Rook Chapel, Clay Center, with the Rev. James Bridges officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Clay Center. Friends may call from 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Salina.
