Description	:	Catherine Johannesen Currier, age 90 of Bryant, died on March 18, 2017 at her daughter’s home near Bryant. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22 at the United Church of Christ in Bryant, SD at 11 AM. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday evening from 5 -7 PM. Burial will be at the Erwin Cemetery, Erwin, SD. Arrangements are taken care of by the Osthus Funeral Home, Bryant and De Smet. Catherine was born on February 11, 1927, the sixth baby girl to Martin and Cora (Schanck) Johannesen. She grew up in Erwin where she went to school and graduated from high school in 1947. She attended Watertown Beautician School in December of 1947 and opened her own shop called “Catherine’s Beauty Shop”. She was forced to retire due to her heart attack in October of 1969. Catherine was united in marriage to Vince Kellar in February of 1948. They had three children together, Michael Kellar, Linda (Randy) Walkins and Lynn (Gary) Wendling. She later married Dell (Dutch) Currier in July 3, 1965. Dutch brought two children to the marriage, Lana and Dennis. Dell died in 1978. She continued to live in her own home in Bryant until her health failed. Catherine is survived by her two daughters, Lynn and Linda, many grandchildren; and two sisters, Shirley and Joyce. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Dell, a son Michael, infant sister Edna and two adult sisters, Emaline and Dorothy.C Provided by Contributor: RAH (48696513)
