Read More	The Columbus Daily Telegram, December 27, 1932, p. 6, col. 2 Mrs. Catherine Sturek Dies – Following a brief illness, Mrs. Catherine Sturek, 85, Platte county pioneer and a resident of Columbus for the last 42 years, passed away at 9:30 a.m. yesterday at her home, at Sixth and Thirteenth avenue. Her death was due to pneumonia. She was taken ill last Wednesday, and due to her advanced age and complications from which she was afflicted, she could not respond to treatment. As Miss Catherine Bozak, she was born in Tarnov, Poland, where she grew to womanhood, and where she was married to Andrew Sturek. They came to this country 52 years ago, and settled first on a farm near Tarnov, Neb., where they resided for a period of 10 years. They then moved to Columbus, where she has resided since that time. Mr. Sturek passed away on Aug. 12, 1912. Mrs. Sturek was a devout member of St. Anthony’s Polish Catholic church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Paul Rodak, Mrs. William Cutsor, Mrs. Mike Duracinski and Mrs. Josephine Knopik, all of Columbus; two sons, Joe and John Sturek, of Columbus; 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. Anthony’s church, with Rev. Fr. Casimir, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery. _______ December 28, 1932, p. 6, col. 3 & 4 Funeral of Mrs. Sturek – Funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Sturek, 85, who died Monday morning at her home at Sixth street and Thirtieth avenue, were held at St. Anthony’s church at 9 a.m. today.
