Description	:	Catherine Kay Lewter, 77, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2003, at her residence. She was the widow of Earl W. Lewter Sr. She was a member of Spotswood Baptist Church, where she served as the clerk for 42 years. She worked for Carl Silver's automobile dealership in Fredericksburg for 15 years and then retired as a court stenographer for the civil service at Quantico. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and a member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include one son, Earl W. Lewter Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of Fredericksburg; two grandchildren, Richard Lewter and Rebecca Pitzer, and two stepgrandchildren, Stefanie Hill and Courtney Hill, all of Frederickburg; one great-granddaughter, Haley Jean Pitzer of Fredericksburg; two brothers, William Kay of Waldorf, Md., and John Kay of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Margaret Way and Jean Thomas. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2003, at Covenant Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Jim Stone officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family wil receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
