While Mrs. O’Hara had not been feeling as well as usual for the past few weeks, she was not considered to be seriously ill until a short time preceding her death. Catherine Casey was born in County Meath, Ireland , July 25th, 1842. When six years old, she came with her parents to this country, settling at Utica, N.Y. Where they lived eight years, and then they came west settling at Delhi, Iowa. In 1868 she was united in marriage to Michael O’Hara of Nugent’s Grove, (now Coggon), the ceremony being performed by the Rev. Malone at Monti , Iowa on the 3rd day of May. To this union were born seven children---three of whom---Mary Ann, William and Thomas preceded the mother in death. Those left to mourn her loss are her husband and four children---Mrs. Margaret Reilley of Ryan; Mrs. Anna Kinley, Frank O’Hara and Mrs. Winifred Kinley, of Coggon; also one sister Mrs. M. Beacom of Cedar Rapids, and nine grand children. Mrs. O’Hara was a kind and devoted wife and mother and was loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral services were held at St. John’s church Saturday morning at ten o’Clock. Following the celebration of the Solemn Requiem High Mass of which Rev. Father Murray was celebrant, Rev Father J. Melloy of Ryan, deacon and Rev. F. Behan of Cedar Rapids sub-deacon. Father Murray delivered a sermon ------ Burial was made in the Belmont cemetery.
