Catherine was born Nov. 2, 1913, in Hills, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Emma (Burger) Draker. She graduated from St. Mathias High School in Muscatine, Iowa. Catherine married Elmer Pechman on Jan. 15. 1935. The couple lived on a farm north of Lone Tree for many years. Mr. Pechman died in 1964. On March 7, 1970, Catherine married Milburn Mills in Iowa City. Mr. Mills died in 1979. Catherine was also a homemaker. She has been a resident at Atrium Village since 1981. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph’s Altar & Rosary Society, Friends Club and Town & Country Club, both of Hills, Iowa City Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and Iowa City Women of the Moose. She is survived by three children, Joyce Brenneke and husband David of West Branch, Mary Ernst of Davenport and John Pechman of Hills; seven stepchildren, Beverly Freyermuth and husband Paul of Waverly, Tenn., Gaylord Mills and wife Debbie of Muscatine, Iowa, Darrell Mills and wife Ann of Lafayette, La., Sandy Allan and husband Wendell of Yarmouth, Iowa, Chris Schlabaugh and husband Duane of Parnell, Iowa, Sid Mills and wife Pam of Iowa City and Van Mills and wife Diane of Skull Valley, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 25 stepgrandchildren; 56 stepgreatgrandchildren; and a special friend, Stanley Hirt of Hills. Catherine was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; two sisters, Cecelia Lorack and Agnes Kline; an infant brother, Frankie Draker; three brothers, Charles, Arthur and Robert Draker; two sons in law, Walter Juels and Gerald Yakish; and three stepgrandchildren.
