Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers were Billie Horstmann, Ivan Johnson, Keith Saathoff, A.J. Beck, Marvin W. Kile and Victor Ebel. Pallbearers were Lowell Fisher, Larry Filkins, Larry Horstmann, Lyle Fischer, Roger Fisher and Don Horstmann. On February 11, 1934 she married Cecil J. Carder at Creighton. They farmed near Creighton until 1965 when they moved to town. She was a rural school teacher for two years and was employed at the Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton for more than 15 years. Catherine was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, belonging to the Woman's ALCW and was a Sunday School teacher for more than 17 years. Her hobbies included painting and ceramics. She is survived by two children, Robert Carder of Las Vegas, Nev. and Betty Kmiecik of Chambersburg, Penn.; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Eda Sebade and Mrs. Helen J. Anderson, both of Creighton; one brother, Carl Horstmann of Forestville, Calif.; five sisters-in-law, Mrs. Mae Wortman, Mrs. Margaret McAbee, Mrs. Ruth Nejedly, Mrs. Georgia Fisher, and Mrs. Ruth Horstmann. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on March 1, 1979 and three brothers, William, Harry and August Horstmann.
