She grew up on her parent's farm in rural Whittemore attended Presentation Academy and helped her mother on the farm. Catherine married Robert William Walker June 22, 1937, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whittemore. Catherine worked many years on the farm helping her husband and raising their family. She grew up on her parent's farm in rural Whittemore attended Presentation Academy and helped her mother on the farm. Catherine married Robert William Walker June 22, 1937, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whittemore. Catherine worked many years on the farm helping her husband and raising their family. In her spare time she loved to crochet, quilt, embroider, golf and play cards with her family and friends and was known as the deviled egg lady. She also loved to garden and in later years tend to her flowers. She lived in Whittemore until 1972, when she and Robert retired to Algona. In her retirement she was able to travel a bit, but was just happy being home with her family and friends. She loved her children and grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Catherine was a very spiritual person whose prayers and deep faith were a constant support for all she loved and knew. She was a member of the St. Cecelia Parish and the CD of A. Catherine died Monday, March 10, 2008, at the Kossuth Regional Health Center in Algona. She was 93. She is survived by her children, Mary (Ron) Buscher of Monticello; Jerry (Pat) Walker of Whittemore; Dale (Maling) Walker; Dennis (Carolyn) Walker of Des Moines; Duane (Dana) Walker of Algona; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, whom all love her dearly. Also surviving are two sisters, Marcella Lindsey of Albert Lea, MN; Loretta Hildman of Humboldt and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert on April 15, 1989; two infant sons; sisters, Veronica Higgins and Viola Kollasch and two brothers, Lewis Priester and Francis Priester.
