Description	:	Mrs. Catherine Morgan Gibbons, seventy-five, a resident of the Exeter community since infancy, died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, July 12, 1949. She apparently had been in her usual health until a few minutes before the end came. Mrs. Gibbons, daughter of the late William and Rose Etta Morgan, was born January 1, 1874, at Bloomington, Ill. Read More	Mrs. Catherine Morgan Gibbons, seventy-five, a resident of the Exeter community since infancy, died unexpectedly at her home Tuesday, July 12, 1949. She apparently had been in her usual health until a few minutes before the end came. Mrs. Gibbons, daughter of the late William and Rose Etta Morgan, was born January 1, 1874, at Bloomington, Ill. In 1875 the family moved to the Exeter vicinity. When a young woman, Mrs. Gibbons taught in rural schools near Exeter. In 1904 she was married to John Gibbons. They were the parents of six children, and when Mr. Gibbons died May 16, 1912, Mrs. Gibbons was left to rear this young family, which she did in a manner that evoked the admiration of her many friends. Her devotion to her family, courageous acceptance of life's challenges and genuine friendliness won for Mrs. Gibbons the high regard of all whose privilege it was to know her. Of the children, William Francis died in infancy and John at the age of twenty-one. Surviving are Mrs. Jo Manning of Wausa, Mrs. Rose McShane of Omaha, James of Hastings and Leo of Exeter. Other survivors include a brother, William of Omaha; a sister, Miss Etta Morgan of Geneva; four grandchildren and a brother-in-law, M. R. Gibbons. The Rosary was recited Wednesday evening at the Farmer Funeral home and the funeral was held Thursday morning, July 14, at 9 o'clock at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Burial was in the Exeter Cemetery. The Nebraska Signal July 1949 Daughter of William and Rose (Smith) Morgan.
