Description	:	Catherine Oberta Edwards Smith Early Kelly went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 22, 2014. She died at her home in Culpeper where she lived for the past nineteen years. She was born March 2, 1919 in Warrenton, VA to John Wesley Smith and Annie Evie Groves Smith. Catherine was a wonderful and loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of twenty, great-great grandmother of nine as well as aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine was a wonderful and loving wife, mother of three, grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of twenty, great-great grandmother of nine as well as aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Catherine is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Carl Kelly and sons, Willis H. "Pete" Early and wife, Carol, John W.D. Early and wife, Alice and Robert C. Early and wife, Diann. She was predeceased by her husband of forty-four years, Conway Houston Early, brothers; Conway Smith, Albert Smith, Henry Smith and John Malcolm Smith and sisters, Esther Smith Early, Anne Smith Arbuckle, as well as a grandson, Chad Early. Catherine spent her life as a devout member of Bealeton Presbyterian Church and more recently, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. Catherine touched many with her hard work ethics starting with the Bealeton Cannery, then the Warrenton Laundry, Braun's Department Store, SH Kress Department Store, and retired from Butler Farm only to continue working for Early's Market. She was a long standing influential member of the Bealeton community and will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 26 from 7- 9 PM at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Ave, Warrenton. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 27 at 11 AM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. M. Peyton Embrey officiating, assisted by Rev. John B. Arbuckle, Jr. and George Smallwood. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Bealeton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, 12714 Elk Run Road, Midland, VA 22728. Fauquier Now
