They did not rely on unsubstantianted information on internet web sites, but did on site research. They have concluded Frederick is the son of Heinrich (Henry) Siegrist (Secrest) and Maria Elisabetha Printzier. Frederick married ca 1780 to Catharine Switzer. Frederick was born in 1754 and died on Dec. 1, 1834. Source for the death date comes from his will posted Dec 22, 1834. This does not prove Dec. 1, 1834, but means the date on the memorial stone is not correct. Note: Fifty to sixty years after Frederick died, the granddaughter of Frederick, Nancy Secrist Brill replaced fieldstones with a marble monument at the Hebron Lutheran Church to mark the graves of Frederick, Catherine, and their daughter Rebecca. Fredericks dates on the monument "Jan 1790-Died Jan 20, 1870 80 yrs" are in error. The error has led many to believe there were two Frederick Sechrist/Secrest, but that is not the case.
