Burial was made in the catholic cemetery. at Masonville. Mrs. Mersch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. H. Diggins of Masonville was born in the village of Masonville March 13, 1913, and grew to young womanhood there. She received her education in St. Xavier's school in Manchester, and Cedar Rapids., and after completing her education she taught school at Masonville for two years. Her marriage with Kenneth Mersch occurred in May, 1933. She leaves the husband a baby daughter, six weeks old, her parents, three sisters--Mrs. Floyd Van Auken of Manchester, and the Misses Emma Jane and Ilene Diggins and one brother, John of Masonville. Mrs. Mersch was a devout member of the Catholic church and a young woman of much charm and refinement. Her untimely death brings a great sorrow to the members of her household, and the sympathy of a host of friends goes out to the husband left with the care of an infant daughter, the parents and the sisters an brothers.
