Description	:	Daughter of Casper H. Kronsbein and Maria Niermann, Katherine Kronsbein/Krousbein immigrated in 1856 with others from Melle. She married Frederick William Schiermeier 12 November 1857. From a review of the 1870 through 1910 St. Charles census entries, the couple's children were John, William, Caroline, Ernst, Emma, Louisa, Herman, and August. Mrs. Schiermeier died near Cappeln at the home of her son, Herman. She was the mother of August F. Schiermeier, hardware merchant of Cappeln. She was not feeling well and family from St. Louis had just told Grandma good-bye when the end came suddenly and peacefully. Her "soul had taken flight to the Great Beyond." She was survived by five children, three sons and two daughters …. She also left one sister, Mrs. Ernst Moritz of Wentzville, whose husband had died the previous week. "Mrs. Schiermeier lived to a ripe old age and in her death the community has lost a valuable citizen and the family a kind and thoughtful mother who reared a family of excellent children, showing careful training and an example of right living. She believed in training her children right, succeeded in her undertaking and was spared to live to see her sons and daughters grow up to be honored and upright citizen.
