Description	:	From Nevada Journal Jan 24, 1953 William L. Drybread William Lockridge Drybread, so of John E. and Love L. Drybread*, was born June 19, 1899. He attended the Nevada schools but at the end of his junior year in high school received an appointment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, which he entered after finishing his high school work at a "prep" school in the east. He was a graduate from Annapolis in 1921 with high honors-- ranking second in a class of 352. His active service in the navy included a period as instructor of Annapolis just before his retirement in 1936... Read More	From Nevada Journal Jan 24, 1953 William L. Drybread William Lockridge Drybread, so of John E. and Love L. Drybread*, was born June 19, 1899. He attended the Nevada schools but at the end of his junior year in high school received an appointment to the Naval Academy at Annapolis, which he entered after finishing his high school work at a "prep" school in the east. He was a graduate from Annapolis in 1921 with high honors-- ranking second in a class of 352. His active service in the navy included a period as instructor of Annapolis just before his retirement in 1936 when he held the rating of Commander. He was recalled to active duty in 1939, serving in an executive command position at the Great Lakes Training School until he was retired again in 1948. He died suddenly Sunday, January 18, 1953 in an automobile accident in Florida. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. George Rapson of Cherokee, and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives. William and his sister had been able to enjoy their last few years together -- leisurely traveling south for the winter and north to Minnesota for the summer. SUBMITTER'S NOTE: William's mother was Lovina Sophia "Lovie" Lockridge, daughter of William Lockridge and Lydia Ann Letson.
