Description	:	Ceasil Lizzie Minnie Schutte, daughter of Fred and Lena (Schroeder) Schutte, was born January 25, 1901 in Clayton County, near Luana, Iowa. Ceasil attended a country school near her home and also the Luana Consolidated School. On September 23, 1924, she was married to Eldo John Gericke by the Reverend Schmidt at Postville, Iowa. They had three children. Eldo and Ceasil farmed for many years between Luana and Postville. During the mid-1930's, they moved to Postville. Read More	Ceasil Lizzie Minnie Schutte, daughter of Fred and Lena (Schroeder) Schutte, was born January 25, 1901 in Clayton County, near Luana, Iowa. Ceasil attended a country school near her home and also the Luana Consolidated School. On September 23, 1924, she was married to Eldo John Gericke by the Reverend Schmidt at Postville, Iowa. They had three children. Eldo and Ceasil farmed for many years between Luana and Postville. During the mid-1930's, they moved to Postville. Ceasil was lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, a member of the Women of the ELCA, serving as Secretary from 1948 to 1950, and taught Sunday School for many years. Ceasil had been employed at the Postville Telephone office, Huebner's, Koevenig's and Harold Schroeder's grocery store, and then had worked in the kitchen at Community Memorial Hospital in Postville for seven years. She died Friday, October 27, 1995 in the Good Samaritan Center at Postville, Iowa. Funeral services were held Monday, October 30, 1995 at St. Paul Lutheran Church at Postville, Iowa. The Reverend Charles W. Miller officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Postville was in charge of arrangements. Interment was in the Postville Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eldo, a daughter, Marlene May Gericke, who died in infancy, a son, LaMont Gericke and three brothers, Louie Schutte, Arnold Schutte and Emmet (Pete) Schutte. Surviving was a son, Vernon Gericke and his wife, Marty, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Fern Gericke Kephart and her husband, Floyd, of Monticello, IA; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren, and a brother, Eldo Schutte and his wife, Verla, of Postville.
