Read More	Cecelia Joy Means (April 27, 1924 - March 29, 2013) Cecelia Joy Means was born April 27, 1924, in Allen, Kansas, near Emporia, the daughter of Herbert A. Smith and Cecil Mae (Hostetler) Smith. She graduated from Allen High School in 1941. She was employed at JC Penney in Emporia, Ks. She also made tents for World War II in Emporia, Ks. On June 29, 1945, Cecelia married Kenneth Albert Means in Emporia, Ks. Cecelia and Kenneth had 4 children, farmed, and raised cattle for the better part of 50 years. Living in the country she loved all kinds of animals but her favorites were her Pomeranian dogs. She loved cooking, sewing, and gardening but what she loved most was being with her family. On many a weekend morning at the farm you'd find anywhere from 10, to 15 kids, grand kids and great grand kids gathered around the kitchen table for first stab at some of grandma's waffles. They all loved their Grandma Celia. She was preceded in death by her son , James Ray Means on August 7, 2012, her husband Kenneth Means on July 7, 1999; her parents Herbert and Cecil Smith, two sisters, Betty Louise Jauernig of Burlington Ks, and Luella June Benson of Fremont, Michigan. She is survived by Jim's wife Carol Means, Emporia, KS.; 3 Daughters, Judy Mae Colvin and her husband Butch, Poplar Bluff, MO.; Joyce Kay Peterman and her husband Wayne, Olathe, KS.; Joan Fay Clubine and her husband Steve, Windsor, MO.; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; a sister Leota Kellerman and her husband Bob, of Hutchison, KS; and several nieces and nephews. On March 29, 2013, at the age of 88, Cecelia died with her daughters at her side in Burlington, Kansas. She was a loving wife, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She influenced and enriched so many lives over the years. She will be deeply missed. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery just east of Cecelia's home.
